St. Ignatius in Tarpon Springs has an opening for an Assistant Parish Manager. This position is responsible for managing office personnel, financial, accounting, payroll, and other business and ministry-related support to the parish.  Reports to the Parish Manager and Director of Ministry.

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits, including pension.


  • Manage and develop the parish office team optimizing processes, maximizing employee utilization and balancing workloads
  • Process invoice payments, journal entries, deposits, and monthly reports
  • Onboarding new employees and bi-weekly payroll for parish staff
  • Monitor/process weekly deposits including collection deposits on Mondays after weekend Masses collections are counted
  • Performs monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and month-end close reports
  • Prepares diocesan reports as needed
  • Develops and maintains the parish ministry database
  • Works closely with the Director of Ministry to refine and document and execute on an evangelization strategy
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Knowledge of the basic tenets of Catholic Church and passion for its mission to bring Christ to the world
  • Bachelor’s degree (accounting, finance or management a plus)
  • 5 years of professional experience in business or administration that includes a supervisory role
  • Skilled and experienced in managing, developing and coaching people on a team
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and general ledger
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices, including record keeping and data security methods
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Office 365
  • A working knowledge of ParishSOFT Accounting and Paylocity is a plus

Candidate must successfully pass a Level II (FBI) criminal background screening and complete Diocesan Safe Environment Training prior to employment. St. Ignatius is a smoke and drug free workplace.
