“I have made you a light…that you may be an instrument of salvation to all.” (Acts 13:47) Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon, FL is seeking a faith-filled disciple to share the Good News with our youth – from kindergarten through 8th grade. The position is full time, salaried, exempt, and includes the diocesan benefits package.
The Director of Faith Formation (DFF) is responsible for the formation our parish catechists and coordinates the K- 8th grade program. The DFF is also responsible for overseeing the preparation processes for Baptisms, First Reconciliation, and First Communion. The DFF shares a collaborative relationship with the DFF who coordinates the RCIA and the parish Adult Faith Formation programs. Both oversee the Faith Formation Support Staff. While supervised by the pastor, a collaborative relationship is also shared with the Director of Youth Ministry and the parish Faith and Media Coordinator.
Qualified Catholic candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Theology or Religious Education, current catechist’s certifications, and previous experience directing a parish faith formation program. Being bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required. Familiarity with ParishSoft, Microsoft Office Suites, and various digital media is required.
