St. Timothy Catholic Church is seeking a Director of Music. The position is full time and includes benefits.
Area of responsibility include planning, preparing, and providing music for four weekend Masses – one vigil Mass and three on Sunday morning, overseeing an adult choir, a bell choir, as well as providing music for funerals and weddings, Holy Days of Obligation, Penance Services, and other liturgical events.
A qualified candidate possesses strong communication skills with a sensitivity to the cultural/worship experience of parishioners. This person must have the personality and the leadership skills that allow him/her to interrelate on various levels with a broad mix of people.
The candidate will keep current with official statements and documents on music and the liturgy.
In determining the appropriate salary for the full-time Director of Music, the following three areas are considered:
- the level of education
- competency in liturgy/music
- experience
Qualified applicants are to possess the following:
- Proficiency on organ and piano preferred.
- Minimum education is a bachelor degree with a master degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience as a music director in a parish setting
Know that St. Timothy dedicated a new hybrid pipe organ in 2018. The organ console is a Rodgers Infinity Series 484 with 4 manuals and 84 named stops. The casework and pipes are elevated above the choir and include 7 stops built by Fratelli Ruffatti. The front of the case is adorned by a beautiful horizontal Trompette en Chemade.
