This position is full-time with benefits.  The Director is responsible for music at all liturgical and non-liturgical celebrations; the training, development, and preparation of cantors, musicians, and choir members; and all associated administrative functions.

Job Responsibilities:

Plans and prepares all music for all liturgical activities, in keeping with preferences of the Pastor
• Accompanies by both organ and piano
• Leads weekend Masses as well as occasional sung weekday Masses, Holy Days, Funerals, Weddings, Penance Services, and other events
• Selects both contemporary and traditional music that reflects Vatican II theology and scriptural texts
• Plans and leads rehearsals with cantors, choirs, and musicians
• Recruits, trains, and develops cantors, musicians and choir members, both adult and youth, including students from our Faith Formation program and school
• Maintains professional competence through regular music practice
• Works with staff to coordinate bulletin announcements, publicity, etc.
• Participates in staff and liturgy meetings
• Maintains organized and updated music files
• Provides accurate copyright information and coordinates all financial responsibilities
• Organizes and maintains all equipment used by musicians, including but not limited to organ, piano, microphones, stands, sound system
• Collaborates with other Music Directors and outside contacts to facilitate the growth of new ideas
• Performs any other duties as directed by the Pastor.

Requirements:
Degree or experience in Catholic Church music setting
• Familiarity with modern A/V system and equipment.
Must be a practicing Catholic.
Candidate must successfully pass a Level II FBI Background Screening and complete Safe Environment Training prior to employment.
