St. Ignatius is currently accepting applications for a Director of Youth Ministry.  This position is responsible for helping teams encounter the love, mercy and person of Christ, build a vibrant youth ministry community and create transformative experiences for the youth.

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits, including pension.


  • Build, form, and actively engage in relational ministry opportunities with students and parents.
  • Lead and Plan Weekly High School Life Nights.
  • Plan and engage in service opportunities.
  • Annual large group retreat/camp experiences such as Life Teen/EDGE Summer Camps.
  • Creation of promotional material and media for Youth Ministry events, utilizing Constant Contact eBlasts, bulletin items, and all social media outlets.
  • Understand and implement the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Diocese of St. Petersburg Office of Youth Ministry, especially those concerning the protection of the youth.


  • Knowledge of the basic tenets of the Catholic Church and passion for its mission to bring Christ to the world
  • Proven leadership
  • Experience in youth ministry in a Catholic parish
  • A strong understanding and ability to articulate the Catholic faith to teens
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Office 365
  • A bachelor’s degree in theology, religious education, or similar field a plus
  • Youth Ministry Certification a plus

Candidate must successfully pass a Level II FBI criminal history background screening and complete Safe Environment Training prior to employment.
