St. Stephen Parish

St. Stephen Catholic Church, a young and active parish, is looking for a Parish Receptionist. This is a part-time position. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for new and existing parishioners and is responsible for all front-desk administrative support duties.


  • Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
  • Welcome parishioners in a warm and friendly manner, and answer any questions they may have
  • Manages difficult or emotional parishioner situations in a pastoral way
  • Maintain confidentiality of parishioners and visitors to the parish
  • Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times
  • Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a fax machine, a copy machine, and a computer
  • Assist parishioners with scheduling Mass Intentions and maintain the Mass Intention Calendar
  • Receive deliveries; sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Take inventory of supplies and restock as needed Qualifications for Receptionist
  • Practicing Catholic with knowledge of the Catholic Faith
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Candidate must successfully pass a Level II FBI Background Screening and complete Safe Environment Training.
