An Invitation from the Office of the Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute

Workshop for Lay Leaders and Deacons: Protecting Our Families from Pornography
Two highly-respected speakers in promoting freedom from pornography, Father Allen Hoffa, from Integrity Restored, and Theo McManigal, from Covenant Eyes, will present a free workshop for all deacons and lay leaders (staff and ministry leaders), on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., at the Bethany Center, 18150 Bethany Center Drive, Lutz. Topics presented will include: the destructive impact of pornography, how to address the crisis of pornography in our communities, how to promote purity among the teens in our communities, and more. Morning snacks and lunch will be provided. All additional info, including speaker bios and a registration link, is included in the flyer at this link. Deadline for registration is Friday, August 29th.
Healing Mass for Survivors of Abuse
The fifth annual Mass of Healing will be held for those who seek spiritual healing from abuse in all forms, including sexual, physical, or emotional, and for those who wish to pray for victims/survivors of abuse, their family and friends. The Mass will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, 5815 5th Avenue North, St. Petersburg. Most Reverend Gregory Parkes, Bishop of Saint Petersburg, will be the main celebrant. The community is invited to participate.
During the Mass, those harmed by abuse are invited to call upon Jesus, the Good Shepherd, for comfort, peace and healing. Opportunities for prayer with a priest or conversation with our Victim Assistance Coordinator, John Lambert, L.C.S.W., will be available following the Mass.

Misa en Honor de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, Patrona de Cuba
La Iglesia de St. Lawrence, 5225 N. Himes Avenue, Tampa, les invita a una misa en honor a Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre el lunes, 8 de septiembre, 2025 a las 7:30 PM. Mass in honor of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre, Patroness of Cuba
St. Lawrence Parish, 5225 N. Himes Avenue, Tampa, invites you to attend a Mass in honor of Our Lady of Charity at the parish on Monday, September 8th at 7:30 PM. We will start with the Rosary at 7:00 PM followed by the Mass at 7:30 PM. Fr. Alberto F. Bueno, Parochial Vicar of St. Patrick Parish, Tampa, will be the celebrant and homilist. All are invited!

Spiritual Exercises for Everyday Life Retreat
This is the 9th consecutive year, the Spiritual Exercises for Everyday Life (SEEL) offered and will begin this October 2025. This opportunity for spiritual enrichment is designed for busy people and affords the average person to do the tradition Ignatian 30-day retreat (19th annotated exercises). The SEEL retreat is offered both in-person and virtually. This could be your opportunity to dive into the rich depths, in the centuries-tested 30-day retreat from St. Ignatius of Loyola, broken down into a manageable 32 weeks. Perhaps you are ready to do this for yourself at this stage in your ministry and life.
