Creating Toiletry Bags for the Homeless

As part of the Cathedral’s commitment to the Diocese of Saint Petersburg’s “1,000,000 Acts of Mercy Challenge,” the parish community is participating in extra acts of kindness and mercy this year. The church is collecting donations of toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash, deodorant, and other items for people in need. For people experiencing homelessness, toiletry bags can make a huge difference in dignity, health, and daily comfort.

The Media is invited to cover this event that will provide great visuals of volunteers sorting through donations to create toiletry bags for those who are experiencing homelessness.

Additional Information:

This event is a celebration of the Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year of Hope. Through both the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, parishioners across the Diocese of Saint Petersburg are working to make God’s mercy manifest within our communities. The goal is to be a sign of hope for our brothers and sisters who experience hardships. These Works of Mercy are tangible and measurable; no act is too large or too small, especially when done with great love. Empowered by the message of the Gospel, the Diocese is inviting people to take part in the challenge by collectively completing 1,000,000 works of mercy within this Jubilee Year.
