The Catholic Church has a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) that calls adults (and children of catechetical age) to a conversion of mind and heart and that prepares them for a full and active life in the Church as disciples of Jesus.  This ritual process is spread out over a period of time – in many cases a year or more – to help the individual to become a mature and involved Catholic Christian.  The RCIA takes place within the context of a parish community. Contact a parish near you to learn more about this process. Click here for our parish locator.
