St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Clearwater, Florida Is seeking an experienced Part-time maintenance tech to join our facilities team. We are looking for a person who is well versed in all aspects of repair and maintenance including mechanical, electrical and plumbing.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The primary objective of this position is to perform moderate to complex repair and maintenance work for mechanical, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance problems that include troubleshooting to identify problems and creating the solution.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Perform minor to moderate-level plumbing, electrical, carpentry and other general repair work.
  • Perform painting projects ranging from full interior to minor touch up and repair of walls.
  • General cleaning and maintenance of all facilities and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to keep the facility operations running smoothly and efficiently.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Fluent in the English language. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of commercial facility maintenance preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • General knowledge of the repair and maintenance of light fixtures and plumbing / irrigation.
  • Knowledge and skills to operate common and specialized tools for repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to visually inspect units, grounds and other aspects of the property to determine adherence to standards.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally, and in writing.
  • Knowledge and skills to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply written instructions for repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Basic computer/technical skills.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIROMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands and fingers to control objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs and ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. The associate must be able to lift 50 lbs. individually and up to 100 lbs. with assistance devices (dollies /hand trucks and carts.)

Must be able to see and read to complete forms, read reports and visually determine the correct working order of other property facilities. Frequently needed to review small details.

While performing the duties of this job the associate may work in an outdoor environment exposed to adverse weather conditions as well as dirt and/or dust.

COMPENSATION

Pay: Negotiable with experience. 20-25 hrs. per week

Candidate must successfully complete a Level II FBI background screening and attend safe environment training.
