POSITION SUMMARY St. Patrick Catholic Church is seeking a faith-filled, energetic, and organized Director of Religious Education to lead our parish’s religious education and sacramental preparation programs. The ideal candidate will be a joyful disciple of Jesus Christ, dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth of our youth, supporting families, and fostering a deep love for the Catholic faith within our community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Faith Formation: Coordinate, develop, and oversee all K–12 faith-formation programs and curriculum selection.
- Sacramental Preparation: Manage and implement preparation programs for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA).
- Catechist Leadership: Recruit, train, and support volunteer catechists, providing them with the resources and spiritual encouragement needed to teach.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to Diocesan Safe Environment compliance guidelines for all volunteers and programs.
- Administration: Manage program schedules, maintain accurate sacramental and registration records, and oversee budget planning for the religious education department.
- Family Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for families, fostering strong, collaborative relationships between the parish and home.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Faith & Witness: A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, who possesses a strong commitment to the teachings and mission of the Catholic Faith.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Education, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in parish catechesis, youth ministry, or classroom teaching is required.
- Skills: Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Proficiency with basic office technology and communication platforms is essential.
