Position Purpose
The Pastoral Center at the Diocese of St. Petersburg is seeking a Processing Specialist. This position assists the Director of Donor Relations in the day-to-day duties of the Campaign Processing Office and serves as primary customer service representative for all donors.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Open, sort donations by tender type and prepare for batch deposit and donor entry into Salesforce.
- Process and record all pledges and payments to donor records for all campaigns.
- Collect and record updated donor information in Salesforce.
- Customer service to donors and parish staff involving phone and digital correspondence in relation to payment history and donor concerns.
- Handle parish and donor related inquiries concerning all tracked campaign in professional, courteous manner.
- Research outstanding amounts when vendor statements are received
- File all back up in accordance with auditing protocol
- Document adjustment requests for submission to Senior Processing Specialist for posting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with members of diocesan offices, parish, school staffs and clergy.
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible to adjust work to the tasks needed at any given moment.
- Ability to research information, draw informed conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
- Perform account analytical work and clerical work as instructed.
- Perform weekly database follow up with assigned parishes to maintain integrity of diocesan database.
- Maintain confidentiality when dealing with donor records, parish assessments and campaign efforts.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Working Conditions
This position requires office space in the Pastoral Center, and attendance at approved outside meetings and seminars.

Qualities and Skills
- Requires a good work ethic, positive attitude, and people skills.
- Processing Specialist should be detail oriented and task driven.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and other basic computer programs
- A High School Diploma, and appropriate money handling experience and data entry experience is required. Business School or Technical School training in computer and beginning to intermediate knowledge of data entry is recommended, 1-2 years (or more) Salesforce experience is preferred.
- Candidate must successfully pass a Level II FBI Background Screening and complete Safe Environment Training.
