BISHOP GREGORY PARKES INVITES YOU TO THE CHRISM MASS
Please mark your calendars for this year’s Chrism Mass, to take place on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, St. Petersburg (5815 5th Ave N.). Most Reverend Gregory L. Parkes will be the principal celebrant and homilist.

Priests observing significant anniversaries of ordination (e.g. 25, 40, 50, etc.) are honored during the Chrism Mass. Also, Bishop Parkes will bless and consecrate the Holy Oils that are used for sacramental purposes throughout the year, beginning with the Easter Vigil. The Holy Oils are the Oil of Catechumens, the Oil of the Sick, and the Sacred Chrism.

SAVE THE DATE FLYER AVAILABLE FOR FAMILY FAITH FEST
Bishop Parkes is asking everyone to save the date to attend the Family Faith Fest, Saturday, October, 27, 2018, from 10 am – 6 pm. The Family Faith Fest is a one-of-a-kind experience for families! This event will bring together thousands of people from across Tampa Bay and West Central Florida for great live music, food, exhibits, activities for children, faith-filled experiences and much more. JOHN 21 DISCERNMENT GROUP
John 21 is a discernment group for young men who are reflecting on God’s call in their lives and are considering the possibility of priesthood or religious life. Just as the disciples gained clarity of their call while eating breakfast with the Lord, so too will we. The group is open to anyone high school age and older. Everyone is welcome.

The next meeting of this group is on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Lawrence Parish in Tampa (5225 N. Himes Avenue, Tampa, FL 33614) beginning with Mass at 8:30 am in the Church.  Fr. Chuck Dornquast, Parochial Vicar, will lead this discernment group. After Mass, the group will gather for breakfast and conversation, followed by a scripture reflection and question and answer session. EXPLORE ALPHA AND TRAIN TO RUN ALPHA THIS APRIL IN THE DIOCESE OF
ST. PETERSBURG
The Diocese of St. Petersburg is hosting an Explore Alpha evening for pastors, parish leadership and evangelization coordinators on Thursday, April 12, from 7-8:30 p.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 17512 Lakeshore Rd, Lutz, FL 33558. We are looking for photos that show how you and your parish are journeying through this Lenten season. Possible photos to submit might be from your parish’s mission, Stations of the Cross, fish fry, or other Lenten events. Photos of no-meat meals on Friday are welcome as well! We will be adding these photos to a special online photo album as they are received throughout Lent. Email your photos to socialmedia@dosp.org or publicly post them on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #DOSPLent. Please note that in order to post any photos of minors, we must have parental/guardian permission.

NOTRE DAME GLEE CLUB ST. PATRICK’S DAY CONCERT
Join the University of Notre Dame Glee Club for a St. Patrick’s Day concert as the 50-member men’s chorus performs at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. The concert, which will be held at 6:45pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018, will immediately follow the 5:30pm Mass, where the Glee Club will also provide musical accompaniment.

SILENT DIRECTED RETREAT
