BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS EVENTS
The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4 is approaching fast. Please submit your Blessing of the Animals events to the diocesan Events Calendar at this link. We will direct people looking for pet blessings to check the calendar.

The Office of Communications would like to feature photos from pet blessings around the diocese on the diocesan website. Please email photos from your pet blessings to socialmedia@dosp.org. Please remember that any minors in photos must have a release form (English / Spanish) on file with the parish, school, or diocesan office.

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS – Send in Your Pet Photos
Do you have a dog, cat, fish, hamster or horse? The Communications Office of the Diocese of St. Petersburg is putting together a photo album of your pets to post on the diocesan website along with a special prayer for animals for the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on Saturday, October 4. Please email a photo of your pet, living or deceased, along with your pet’s name, to socialmedia@dosp.org by Friday, September 28.

Mass of the Angels
The annual Mass of the Angels for children (born or unborn) who have gone to be with the Lord. will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 11:00am in the St. James Chapel at Bethany Center (18150 Bethany Center Drive Lutz). Families are invited to bring a picture of their lost child/ren to be displayed at the reception following Mass. Misa Hispana Diocesana
El Obispo Gregory Parkes les invita a la Misa Hispana Diocesana en honor a nuestra Señora del Rosario de Chiquinquirá, Patrona de Colombia.  La misa se celebrará el 13 de octubre de 2018 a la 10 AM en la Catedral de St. Jude the Apostle, 5815 5th Avenue N., St. Petersburg.

Diocesan Hispanic Mass
Bishop Gregory Parkes invites you to the Diocesan Hispanic Mass.  This year it will be In Honor of Our Lady Of The Rosary of Chiquinquirá, Patroness of Colombia.  The Mass will be on October 13, 2018 at 10 AM at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle.

Sponsored by the Office of Hispanic Ministry, Diocese of St. Petersburg.

St. Pio Relics to Visit the Diocese of St. Petersburg
Friday, November 2, 2018
The tour of the relics of St. Pio, a modern-day saint who is beloved around the world, will be at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle for one day, Friday, November 2, All Souls’ Day. Six relics of the saint have been brought from Italy to the United States for the first time. All are invited to come and venerate the official relics of St. Pio of Pietrelcina and to participate in the celebration of Mass with Bishop Gregory Parkes at the Cathedral of Saint Jude the Apostle, 5815 5th Ave N, St. Petersburg. Public Veneration will be from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Mass with Bishop Gregory Parkes will be at 6:30 PM. For information about the public veneration, please call (727) 347-9702.

Discernment Day for Young Adult Women
Save the Date!
The Office of Vocations will be hosting a discernment day for young adult women on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, St. Petersburg.  The day will begin with Mass at 11:00 am, followed by lunch and a question and answer period with some of the religious women located right here in the Diocese of St. Petersburg!

Mark your calendars now!  More information will be forthcoming.

John 21 Discernment Group
St. Lawrence Parish, Tampa
John 21 is a discernment group for young men who are reflecting on God’s call in their lives and are considering the possibility of priesthood or religious life.  Just as the disciples gained clarity of their call while eating breakfast with the Lord, so too will we.  The group is open to anyone high school age and older.  All are welcome!

The group meets on Saturday morning at St. Lawrence Parish in Tampa (5225 N. Himes Avenue) beginning with Mass at 8:30 am in the Church.

Fr. Chuck Dornquast, Parochial Vicar, is the leader of this discernment group.  After Mass, the group will gather for breakfast and conversation, followed by Scripture reflection and question and answer session.

John 21 will start up again on September 22, 2018.

50th ANNIVERSARY YOUTH VIDEO CONTEST SPONSORED BY SHALOM WORLD
Contest deadline extended to October 1! The Diocese of St. Petersburg celebrates its 50th Anniversary during 2018. Teens have an opportunity to learn about the history of their local Church through a video contest that answers the question: “Why I love the Church.” The best videos will be featured on the diocesan website and played at the Family Faith Fest on October 27, 2018. Shalom World Television Channel, the commercial free, high definition, Catholic family TV channel, is the official sponsor of the video contest. Their website for programs is www.Shalomworld.org.

Faith & Ale
Men are invited to join others across the diocese for food, drink and fellowship at Faith & Ale! Kicking off our 2018-2019 series, we’re honored to have Bishop Gregory Parkes as our speaker. Join us Wednesday, September 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Christ the King’s Mary Martha Center (717 S Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa). Saint Leo University Hosting Open House on September 29
Saint Leo University will host two open houses this fall. Students of all ages may attend with their families, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, September 29.  A second open house is November 10.
