Religious Jubilee Mass
On Sunday, October 13, 2019, the Diocese of St. Petersburg will celebrate the Religious Jubilee of twelve men and women who have reached milestones in their commitment to the Church through their Congregations.  Representing a total of 715 years of consecrated service to the People of God, the religious will renew their vows during the 11:30 AM liturgy at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, with Bishop Gregory L. Parkes presiding.     Also being recognized at this liturgy is Brother Lucius Amarillas, OSB, who professed solemn vows this summer.

You are all invited to witness this public celebration of the vowed life and to join the reception honoring the Jubilarians which will be held in the parish hall immediately following the liturgy.


Diocesan Hispanic MassThe Hispanic Commission invites all to celebrate with Bishop Gregory L. Parkes the annual Diocesan Hispanic Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Angels, patroness of Costa Rica. The Mass will take place at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, St. Petersburg, on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. We will pray the rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by the procession of flags representing our Hispanic heritage. Misa Hispana DiocesanaLa Comisión Hispana les invita a celebrar junto al Obispo Gregory L. Parkes la Misa Hispana Diocesana anual en honor a Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, patrona de Costa Rica. Diocesan African Mass
The African Catholics Ministry invites all to celebrate the second annual Diocesan African Mass on November 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1203 N Nebraska Ave., Tampa, FL 33602.  The Mass will be presided by Rev. Theobald (Theo) Weria ALCP. The Office of Vocations will host Chosen by Him – A Day of Reflection & Discernment for Women, on Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 10 am until 2 pm at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle in St. Petersburg.

CRS Mini-Grants
The Office of Life, Justice and Advocacy is pleased to announce the beginning of our annual grant process for funding hunger and poverty alleviation efforts in the Diocese.  Ministries from parishes, schools, and other diocesan entities can apply for up to $1,000.00 to assist with programming and advocacy efforts to eradicate hunger.  Twenty-five percent of Diocesan CRS Rice Bowl collections are retained and have been made available for this grant program. Annual White Mass to be Celebrated on October 26, 2019
The Catholic Medical Association (CMA) “Tampa Bay Guild of St. Philomena” invites all physicians, medical students and other healthcare professionals to the Annual White Mass and Dinner on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Christ the King Parish in Tampa.

The Vigil Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Parkes at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Dinner will follow with speaker Dr. Robert Motley, a Family Medicine physician and Clinical Professor in PA  who is active in the CMA. His topic is “Witness In An Age of Conflict”.

Dinner is $58.00 per person. All healthcare provider participants must register to attend by October 16 here.

All Are Invited to Holy Spirit Explosion at the Cathedral on November 2, 2019
Daylong Praise and Worship event featuring prayer, music, liturgy and nationally renowned speakers Sister Briege KcKenna, Johnnette Benkovic-Williams, Lloyd and Nancy Greenhaw and Father Peter Mitchell will be held Saturday, November 2nd at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle.  Registration at 8:00 a.m. for the free event, which ends with a Mass at 4:00 p.m.  Box lunch reservations must be made by October 19th by sending a check for $10 to: Holy Spirit Explosion, Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, 5815 Fifth Ave. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33710.
