Catholic Bishops from Across the Nation to Meet in Orlando June 10-12

What: The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will gather for the 2026 Spring Plenary Assembly.

Details: This annual meeting provides an opportunity for the nation’s bishops to gather and address social and legislative issues affecting the Church and greater society. Topics on the agenda include artificial intelligence and its role in warfare, a new prayer service focused on migrants, and proposals encouraging Congress to increase funding for housing and environmental programs.
As our nation prepares to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The bishops voted in November 2025 to make this consecration in honor of the nation’s semiquincentennial anniversary.
To consecrate a country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is an act of dedicating that nation, its people, and its institutions to the merciful love of Jesus Christ. In the Catholic tradition, it is a sacred act that sets aside a nation for a holy purpose, recognizing Christ as the ultimate King and source of justice, peace, and grace.
Along with this consecration, the bishops have issued a nationwide call to action, encouraging parishes and individuals to participate through 250 hours of Eucharistic Adoration or by completing 250 Works of Mercy.
