The logo of an organization is its signature to the world and provides instant recognition as well as a consistent look. Is your logo attractive and does it reflect your priorities? If you decide to design a new logo, it’s recommended that you enlist the help of a graphic designer or experienced artist. If you need a recommendation, contact the diocesan communications office at email@example.com,
When creating a logo, ask yourself the following questions:
- How does it communicate your Catholic identity?
- Who will have authority to use it?
- What uses are legitimate?
- What are the fonts, colors and design elements that should be used in the logo and with the logo?
Your logo has graphic integrity. Protect that integrity by insisting that any reproduction start from an original, high resolution file to keep it looking sharp and legible.
Also, your logo has institutional and organizational integrity. Do not let groups outside of your organization use your logo without your permission. It becomes an endorsement.
