Hundreds of men, women and children will join the Walk for Life 2018 – On the Bay, along the Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail at Ben T. Davis Beach along 1-mile, 2-mile, or 5K courses, on Saturday, April 14.

The event creates awareness and helps raise funds for four Foundations of Life Pregnancy Centers (Tampa, St. Petersburg, Spring Hill, Dade City) and Knights Women’s Center in Tampa that empower women facing a crisis pregnancy by counseling them on options for birth or adoption, and providing education and support for a baby’s first year of life. Organizers believe the location complements the goals of the Walk.

“We are pleased to host our Walk for Life 2018 – On the Bay at Ben T. Davis Beach for the second consecutive year,” said Rose Llauget, Director of Pregnancy and Adoption Services. “This venue provides our participants with a beautiful locale in which to walk or run in support of women facing the difficulties of pregnancy, but more importantly provides a highly visible location where we can celebrate life and be the voice of pre-born children while sharing our message of love and support for both mother and child.”

Pope Francis said: “We need a church capable of walking at people’s side, of doing more than simply listening to them; a church that accompanies them on their journey.” According to Ms. Llauget, that is exactly the mission of Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center: “We are here to accompany these mothers-to-be through their pregnancy journey with respect, compassion, and charity.”
