The Diaconate Office has received word of the passing of Deacon Mike Ruffner on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.  Deacon Ruffner was ordained for the Archdiocese of Chicago on April 25, 1992 and relocated to the Diocese of St. Petersburg in March of 2005. He served at St. Anthony Parish in Brooksville, St. Theresa Parish in Spring Hill, and in retirement, he ministered at St. Joan of Arc Parish in Spring Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Jan of 44 years, four children; Susan, Sean, Michael and Edward, and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on March 18, 2022 at Brewer & Sons Funeral Home, Spring Hill and the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at St. Joan of Arc Parish, Spring Hill.
