Reverend Hugh J. Mullin

Father Mullin, 93, of Seminole, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015. He was a native of Kansas City, MO, and was ordained to the priesthood in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Kansas City, MO, on December 21, 1946. He was Associated Pastor at St. James, St. Mary, St. Peter, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and St. Elizabeth Parishes, all in Kansas City. Father Mullin was commissioned a chaplain in the United States Air Force on September 29, 1955. Lt. Colonel Mullin retired from the Air Force on October 31, 1975. Among his military decorations are the Bronze Star, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals, the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.

After retirement from the Air Force, Father Mullin served as Chaplain of Avila College, Kansas City, MO. From October 1978 through June 1999, he had been a part-time Associate Pastor of Light of Christ Catholic Church, Clearwater, FL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at 11 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 PM at Light of Christ Catholic Church, 2176 Marilyn St, Clearwater, FL 33765. Very Rev. Gregg Tottle, V.F. will celebrate the Funeral Mass. Priests and deacons are invited to concelebrate.

Father Mullin’s final resting place will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA with Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Light of Christ Catholic Church.
