Former Spirit FM 90.5 Intern Ordained and Installed as Bishop of Hinche, Haiti
Praise be to God! Former Spirit FM 90.5 intern Father Desinord Jean was ordained and installed as Bishop of Hinche, Haiti on July 2. Bishop Jean interned at Spirit FM 90.5 in 2002 while living at Christ the King Parish in Tampa.During his time in our diocese, he inspired many to support humanitarian efforts in Haiti.
During the Mass, Bishop Jean thanked those in attendance from Tampa. He said,
“D’abord permettez-moi de remercier ce groupe qui vient de Tampa en Floride. Je veux parler de John Morris, the General Manager of the Catholic radio station WBVM of the diocese of Saint Petersburg. John, you welcomed me in 2002 for my internship at WBVM. From you I have learned how to manage a radio station, more important how to manage people. If I was successful in that ministry, you are part of it. I know that you’re here today also to represent Bishop Robert Lynch from the diocese of Saint Petersburg, please express to him my gratitude for having welcomed me in his diocese for my internship.”
