Reports To: Financial Assistance and Resource Manager

$20/hour; In-Person

Guaranteed Weekly Hours: Tuesdays: 2pm — 7pm; Wednesdays: 2pm – 7pm; Saturdays: 9am – Ipm

Position Summary

The Resource Navigator serves as a guide and advocate for individuals and families seeking stability. This position helps clients access public benefits, community resources, identification documents, financial assistance programs, and supportive services while providing personalized navigation and follow-up support.

The Resource Navigator helps move clients beyond immediate crisis by connecting them to resources that improve long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Essential Responsibilities

Client Navigation & Support

  • Conduct needs assessments and identify barriers to stability.
  • Provide information and referrals to community resources.
  • Assist clients with developing action plans and next steps.
  • Conduct follow-up calls and outreach to monitor progress.

Benefits and Documentation Assistance

  • Assist clients with SNAP applications and renewals.
  • Help clients obtain identification documents and birth certificates
  • Connect clients with Medicaid, veteran’s benefits, and other public assistance programs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of available community resources and eligibility requirements.

Program Coordination

  • Coordinate referrals with partner agencies.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain client records.
  • Support evening service hours and appointment-based services.
  • Collect outcome data and client success stories.

Community Collaboration

  • Build relationships with local service providers.
  • Participate in resource fairs and community events as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between Daystar and referral partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience in human services, social services, case management, customer service, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of public benefits and community resources preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with computers and client management systems.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.

  • Client stabilization outcomes.
