HSA and FSA allow employees to put aside pre-tax income for eligible expenses. Employees are permitted to enroll in these plans each fall during Open Enrollment for a January 1 plan year start.  The employee may determine how much money, if any, they want to set aside. All enrollment will be thru Paylocity and this program is administered by Aetna Meritain.  You will use your Aetna Meritain site to manage your plan.

Please refer to the current Benefits and Enrollment Guide for eligibility, guidelines, and enrollment information or Contact the Benefits Administrator, Faith, at: fje@dosp.org or 727-344-1611×5438

Health Spending Account (HSA)

Health Spending Accounts (HSA):

A Health Savings Account (HSA) works with the HDHP and allows you to pay for health care expenses not covered by insurance (co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, prescriptions, etc.) using pre-tax dollars. The employee may determine how much money, if any, they want to set aside. Paylocity will provide a debit card that allows you to pay for qualified medical expenses directly from your HSA account.

To help offset your High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) out of pocket costs, Diocese of St. Petersburg will contribute towards your HSA. The employee does not need to made contributions to receive this benefit, however, they do need to set up an account to receive the HSA debit card. See the current Benefits and Enrollment Guide for the DOSP annual contribution amount.

  • You must be enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) and meet eligibility requirements
  • The funds carry over from year to year and remain yours even if you change employers.
  • The employee may determine how much money, if any, they want to set aside through payroll deductions on a pre-tax basis.
