The Chancellor’s Office reports the passing of  Mr. Thomas P. (Tom) Schroeder, former H.R. Director for the Diocese of St. Petersburg, on October 22, 2022, with his wife, Diane, by his side. Born on November 30, 1943, in Bay City, MI, he was the eldest child of Howard and Virginia (Betty) Schroeder. Mr. Schroeder retired from his position after seven and a half years as the Executive Director for Human Resources in the Diocese of St Petersburg in September 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, sister, Cathy (Fred) Oberdick in Michigan, and brother, Jess (Julie) in Ohio, sisters-in-law Jackie and Anne Kukla, brother’s-in-law Ron, Ted (Sue), Tom (Dee) Kukla and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Betty Schroeder, his sister, Susan and brothers-in-law Gerald, Robert and Michael Kukla.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ASPCA or PETA in Tom’s name. Tom’s spirit will forever be alive, and to honor his life, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Michigan.
