The Chancellor’s Office received word that Mrs. Beverly Ann (Mucerino) Tenten, age 87, of Seminole FL, mother of Mrs. Michele Williams, Parish Business Manager of Holy Cross Parish, St. Petersburg, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 30th 2023, at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Saint Petersburg FL.  Beverly’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and devotion to her family and community.

Born and raised in Madison NJ, Beverly was the daughter of Ralph Mucerino Sr. and Anna Barbato. Her education was within Madison’s public schools, graduating from Madison High in 1954. Throughout her young life, Beverly remained a dedicated parishioner of Saint Vincent Martyr Catholic Church.

After graduating high school Beverly’s secretarial talents led her to Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill NJ, where she served as the personal secretary to Walter Brattain, one of the scientists honored with the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1956 for inventing the transistor. It was at Bell Labs where she met her beloved husband, Bob, and in 1960, they were married.

Residing in New Providence NJ, Beverly and Bob later settled in the quaint borough of Fanwood NJ.  A mother of three, Beverly focused on nurturing and supporting her children. She volunteered at her children’s schools and was dedicated to the activities of her parish, Saint Bartholomew the Apostle in Scotch Plains NJ.

Beverly’s legacy extends through the profound love she held for her four grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. She had a love for animals, particularly cats and dogs, as well as the deer and other wildlife that visited her beautiful, park-like backyard.

Remembered for her kindness, gentle nature, thoughtfulness, and generosity, Beverly leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church, St. Petersburg, on January 3, 2024.  A private interment will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery at a later date.
