The Chancellor’s Office received word of the passing of Mrs. Daisy David Vazhappilly, 80, mother of Sister Sherly Vazhappilly, FSSE, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, in India, following a brief hospitalization and rapid decline in health.  Sister Sherly is the Vicar for Religious of the Diocese of St. Petersburg.

Sister Sherly will travel to India early next week for the Funeral Mass, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Trichur, India.  Her father, David Vazhappilly, passed away on June 12, 2025.
