National Vocation Awareness Week November 6-12, 2016

We are the Children of God

The Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time on the heels of the Feast of All Saints and All Souls marks a moment when Jesus illustrates the limits of our imagination.  Jesus proclaims our relationship with God and its possibilities goes beyond our earthly imagination.  As children of God our relationship is with God of the living and for Him all are alive.  With this knowledge, we recommit ourselves to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.  Initiated through our baptism we too are commissioned to proclaim Good News with our lives.

The observance of National Vocation Awareness Week (NVAW) began in 1976 when the National Conference of Catholic Bishops designated the 28th Sunday of the Year as the beginning of NVAW. This year this celebration was moved to the first full week of November for the first time.
