Monsignor Patrick Caverly
We were informed that Monsignor Patrick Caverly, brother of Monsignor Bernard Caverly, Pastor Emeritus of St. Raphael Parish, St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday afternoon, September 14, 2017.  He was a priest of the Diocese of Orlando and was the founding pastor of Annunciation Parish, Altamonte Springs, where Bishop Parkes’ brother, Father Stephen Parkes, is the current pastor.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Reception of the Body:  Tuesday, September 19, 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Annunciation Catholic Church, St. Gabriel Life Center,1020 Montgomery Rd, Altamonte Springs, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass:  Wednesday, September 20, 5:00 p.m., St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Ave., Altamonte Springs.

Monsignor Caverly will be interred in Ireland.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Msgr. Bernard Caverly c/o St. Raphael Catholic Church 1376 Snell Isle Blvd. N.E., St. Petersburg, FL  33704.


Mr. Philip D’Antonio
Mr. Philip D’Antonio, brother of Rev. John D’Antonio, former pastor of Holy Cross Parish, St. Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017, in his home city of Philadelphia.  Funeral services will be held later this week at St. Monica Catholic Church, 2422 S. 17th Street, Philadelphia.

Mr. Baltazar Loverita
Mr. Baltazar Loverita
, father of Rev. Jonathan Loverita, Parochial Vicar of Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Tampa, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at his home in the Philippines.  No further information is available.

Please pray for Father Loverita as he travels home for his father’s funeral and please keep his family and loved ones in your kind thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Deacon Terrence “Terry” Knox
We were also informed of the passing of Deacon Terrence “Terry” Knox, formerly of St. Scholastica Parish, Lecanto, on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, in Vero Beach, Florida.  Deacon Knox was ordained to the diaconate in the Archdiocese of Miami and later moved to Citrus County, where he served the community of St. Scholastica from 1992 to 2015.  He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel, in August 2015.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on September 9, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach, FL.  A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Scholastica Catholic Church, Lecanto, at a later date.  Please keep Deacon Terry’s children and his entire family and loved ones in your kind thoughts and prayers.
