Mr. Michael Kosiba
Mr. Michael Kosiba, 66, former diocesan chair of the Committee on Catholic Scouting, passed away in the Lord on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, while at Tampa General Hospital.  Mike and his wife, Judy were parishioners of Christ the King Parish, Tampa.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa.

Reverend Rock Travnikar
The Chancellor’s Office was informed of the sudden passing of Reverend Rock Travnikar, O.F.M., 71, in the early hours of December 25, 2016, in his apartment at Rocky Creek Retirement Village, Tampa.

Father Travnikar was ordained on November 14, 1976 in Hazel Park, Michigan for the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor.  He belonged to the St. John the Baptist Province, of Cincinnati, Ohio and had served as a college chaplain, teacher, retreat director and missionary and pastor prior to his relocation to Tampa in January 2008, where he worked as the Pastoral Services Coordinator for Rocky Creek Retirement Village.  During his nearly nine years in the Diocese of St. Petersburg, he also provided pastoral assistance to St. Lawrence Parish, Tampa.

In 1979, Father Travnikar released his book, The Blessing Cup: Prayer Rituals for Families and Groups, through St. Anthony Messenger Press.  The book has sold more than 400,000 copies went through four revisions.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Midday Prayer Service on Thursday, January 5, 2017, 12:00 p.m.
Memorial Mass on Thursday, January 5, 7:00 p.m. St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N. Himes Road, Tampa

Funeral Mass:  
Tuesday, January 10, 2017, 10:00 a.m.
Transfiguration Catholic Church
Southfield, Michigan

Interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Southfield, Michigan will immediately follow.


Mrs. Clare Dunne
We have received word of the death of Mrs. Clare Dunne, mother of Father Dermot Dunne, Pastor of St. Cecelia Parish, Clearwater, early Monday morning, December 26, 2016 in Ireland.  She was recently predeceased by two of her daughters (Father Dunne’s sisters) earlier in 2016.

A Funeral Mass was held in Ireland on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Please keep Father Dunne and his family in your prayers during this difficult time as he traveled to bury another of his beloved family members.
