Students respond the Pope Francis’ call to prayer and action living the mission of Christ

The students of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School celebrated World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on Tuesday, September 1st, in a school-wide morning assembly. Father Gary, students, faculty, and parents of the school community listened to the St. Francis Prayer in Praise of Creation and the school choir sang an accompanying song “Look at the World”.

Our students are committed both as individuals and a community to “implore God’s help in protecting creation and an opportunity to ask God’s forgiveness for sins committed against the world in which we live.” Cindy Wooden, Catholic News Services

We were blessed to have been able to answer Pope Francis’ call to a World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. Declared by the Pope to be celebrated from this year forward on the 1st Day of September like our Orthodox brothers and sisters, OLL students put faith into action through such projects and recycling and campus clean-up which are on-going throughout the school year.

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, as part of the parish faith family, builds a strong foundation by developing the unique, academic, physical, social, and spiritual gifts of its students, empowering them to live the mission of Jesus.
