The Office of Communications has created this page for parishes in the Diocese of St. Petersburg to find free and shareable content that helps to evangelize, inspire, and unite our community. Parishes of the Diocese of St. Petersburg have our approval to share any of the materials listed below on their website, social media, bulletin, and other parish communication channels. If you have questions about any materials found on this page, please email communicate@dosp.org. (Please note: Local photos of your parish and parishioners typically obtain the most engagement on a parish social media account and other parish communication channels. However, this content can also support your efforts.)

March is the month of St. Joseph. May we call upon his intercession for our families and look to him for an example of a good father and husband.

Date Specific

March 3 – St. Katharine Drexel

St. Katharine Drexel was always very devout and spent much of her time caring for the African Americans and Native Americans who were discriminated against and in need in her community. She later went on to establish the order of The Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. Like Katharine, may we always strive to follow God’s will and help those in need. Saint Katharine Drexel, pray for us! 🙏🏼

Saints Perpetua and Felicity were young African women who refused to deny their faith and were thrown in prison before being killed for the faith. Like Perpetua and Felicity, may we have the courage to stand strong in our faith. Saints Perpetua and Felicity, pray for us! 🙏🏼

During the Mass of Chrism, the Oil of Chrism, Oil of Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick are blessed and consecrated for use in the diocese throughout the coming year.

March 29 – Good Friday

Today is Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion. It’s a day of fasting and a day to recall the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The Veneration of the Cross highlights the Good Friday liturgy. The cross is solemnly unveiled and venerated by the people. Solemn hymns are sung and chanted throughout the veneration period. Jesus, thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice for us!

March 30 – Holy Saturday

Today there is a solemn silence as we wait for the glory of Christ’s resurrection.

March 31 – Easter Sunday

Jesus Christ is risen today and has defeated the power of death!
