Reminded to be Salt of the Earth and the Light of the World this Lenten season
Posted inBishop Parkes, Florida/USA/World News, Lent, Local News, Pope Francis
The 2020 Lenten season begins on Ash Wednesday, February 26, and ends with Easter Sunday on April 12. During Lent, we are encouraged to raise up the needs of the world in prayer, to sacrifice or fast by giving up food or material wants, and to offer our time, talent, and treasure as good stewards of the gifts God has given us.
In his Lenten message for 2020, Pope Francis reminds us that we are called to be salt of the earth and the light of the world. Read the full text of his message in English or Spanish.
In the video below, Bishop Parkes reminds us reminds to use Lent as a time to grow in faith and relationship with our Lord.
