Rev. Dr. Frederick Brown

The Chancellor’s Office has been informed of the death of Rev. Dr. Frederick Brown, father of Reverend Stephan T. Brown, S.V.D., Pastor of St. Joseph Parish, St. Petersburg. Dr. Brown passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021, while at home in St. Petersburg, under Hospice care, following a steady decline in health in recent months.

Dr. Brown is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Joyce, along with his son, Frederick, Jr. He is survived by his children, Dr. Sharon Brown Hummer (Mark), Rev. Mr. Michael Derrick Brown (Stephanie), Mrs. Regina Maria Scott (Phillip), Dr. Monica Brown Jones (John) and Rev. Stephan T. Brown, SVD, along with 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Locally, all funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2101 22nd Avenue S., St. Petersburg. Viewing will take place on Thursday, January 7, 2021, 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.

A Divine Liturgy will be held at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church, Fairlawn, Ohio, at a later date. This will be a private ceremony for the family.  Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.
