Sr. Mary Rinaldi, FMA
The Vicar for Religious Office informs of the passing of Sr. Mary Rinaldi, FMA, on November 30, 2025, at St. Joseph Provincial Center in Haledon, NJ, surrounded by her Sisters. She was a Daughter of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sister of St. John Bosco) for 61 years. Sr. Mary was born to Augustus and Nancy Rinaldi, the third of seven children on May 13, 1944. Throughout her time as a Salesian Sister, Sr. Mary served as a primary school teacher, director of Camp Auxilium, and founder of the Auxilium School for children ages three to five. The camp thrived under her eighteen years of leadership. Locally, Sr. Mary taught elementary students at Villa Madonna Catholic School, in Tampa. In 1989, Sr. Mary was asked to open the Province’s first Development Office—a major shift form her years in education.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 659 Belmont Avenue in North Haledon, New Jersey.
Please keep Sister Rinaldi, her family and her religious community in your thoughts and prayers.
