Transitional Diaconate Ordination

Posted inUpcoming EventsVocations

Our seminarian Israel “Izzie” Hernandez will be ordained a deacon on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 11:00 am. The ordination will be live streamed.

Izzie has been a seminarian for our diocese since 2014 when he entered St. John Vianney College Seminary. He graduated from the college seminary in 2016 and is now in 3rd Theology at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach. Below is Izzie’s bio.

My name is Israel Antonio Hernandez, but everyone calls me Izzie. I’m a fun loving and personable man. I love God and am so thankful for all that he has done in my life. From my family, consisting of two sisters and both my parents, to my friends, to the places I have been blessed to visit, and to so much more.

To be honest, I would not be walking the path I am right now, if not for Our Fathers glorious, inexhaustible, unchanging, unwavering and everlasting love for me. God is the one and only person that gives me authentic and true joy. I have found happiness in many places, but joy comes from something much greater, no someone much greater! If there is one thing in life that I would like accomplish, it’s to witness and to share this overflowing love that I have experienced.

To be able to share just a small fraction of what God wants to give each and everyone of us. Whether it be through playing sports with the kids, going to a baseball game with some young adults, visiting the sick and imprisoned, or just having dinner with a family. All things that I have done and would love to continue doing.

Please keep Izzie in your prayers this week and especially on Saturday as he is ordained!
