Five Scouts from Same Troop Received Eagle Award on April 30th

During an Eagle Court of Honor in Tampa on April 30th, five young men received Scouting’s highest honor, the Eagle Award. The five award recipients are all part of Troop #329 based at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa. Four of the Eagle Award recipients are seniors at Jesuit High School.  Having five Scouts from the same troop achieve this incredible milestone in one year is unique and impressive. It also highlights the success of the troop at St. Lawrence and shows a high level of dedication to scouting and the disciplines it entails.

Award Recipients and their Eagle Award Projects are Listed Below

Landen Lee

  • School: Jesuit High School, Class of 2025
  • Project: Held a school supply drive for the Gulf Coast Padres de Crianza, a program which supports Latino families in Tampa Bay and ensures they all have the resources they need to keep the children safe and with their loved ones. The school supply drive helped over 60 families ahead at the start of the school year.

Nicolas (Nico) Bush

  • School: Jesuit High School, Class of 2025
  • Project: Built a prayer garden for Mother Theresa Catholic School in Lutz.

Christopher (Chris) Keating

  • School: Jesuit High School, Class of 2025
  • Project: Built customs pallets and additional storage for Matthew 25, St. Lawrence Catholic Church’s food bank ministry.

Jacob (Jake) Sakre

  • School: Jesuit High School, Class of 2025
  • Project: Built a ‘book nook’  and hosted a book drive for RCMA Wimauma Academy, a non-profit school that focuses on helping low-income and migrant children further their education.

Eaven Montalvo

  • School: Recently graduated from Tampa Bay Technical High School. Currently enrolled in Hillsborough Community College.
  • Project: Built a prayer garden for St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
