The Office of Stewardship and Development is responsible for providing the leadership, coordination, management and supervision for development efforts for the Diocese of St. Petersburg into an annual plan synchronized with the overall strategic plan of the Diocese in order to help individuals, families and communities understand and contextualize planned, proportionate and sacrificial giving, recognizing the individual donor intent as the primary focus of its ministry. Using the guidelines provided by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Ad Hoc Committee on Stewardship, the essential functions and services of the Diocese of St. Petersburg Stewardship and Development Office include:

End of Year Giving Challenge

The Giving Challenge is a one-time annual fundraising effort to raise capital for the Community Impact Grant Program. This program, administered by the Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of St. Petersburg, offers grants to diocesan, parish and school programs Courageously Living the Gospel through:

  • innovative youth ministry and young adult programs
  • evangelization efforts to assist in spreading the Good News
  • serving Christ by serving others
  • supporting families seeking a Catholic school education for their children

Mater Dei Giving Society

In appreciation for those who have supported our mission in exemplary ways, Bishop Parkes launched the Mater Dei Giving Society on November 9, 2020 at a special live stream event featuring evening prayer and conversation. Named in honor of our Blessed Mother, the Mater Dei Giving Society recognizes those helping our diocese put our faith into action.
